Hope. Relief. Freedom. You can experience all of this as you recognize, treat, and recover from your concussion, post-concussion syndrome, traumatic brain injury, anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADHD, substance abuse, marital/relational or family problem, or other mental health issue.
There are several vital things you need to know about brain function:
- Trauma (either in the form of hitting your head in a car accident, fall, sports injury, etc. OR in the form of neglect, physical, sexual, or emotional abuse) is the source of the majority of mental health problems.
- Trauma and the resulting symptoms such as headache, pressure in the head, memory problems, word-finding difficulty, anxiety, depression, anger, and others can be overcome. You (or your child) can recover from all of these symptoms.
- Brain function problems result in marriage problems, relational problems, and family problems
If you or a family member experiences lingering effects of a concussion or hitting your head, or the lingering effects of psychological trauma or abuse (events such as deaths in the family, significant injuries, etc. can also be psychologically traumatic) you can achieve Hope, Relief, and Freedom. Similarly, if you are experiencing marital, relational, or family problems you can also achieve Hope, Relief, and Freedom. Treatment is from a cognitive-behavioral perspective and focuses on current responses to prior events.
Relief typically occurs following the very first session. Freedom occurs within 3 to 6 months.
We will identify how your brain functions, work with you to recover from your injury, improve your relationships (couple or family), and maximize your academic, sports, or professional performance while protecting your most important asset - your brain!
